Cultural Passport - Information for Schools & Colleges
Overview
The Cultural Passport is a youth-led initiative for students aged 12–15, encouraging them to explore local culture and creativity across Weymouth and Portland. This printed booklet allows students to collect stamps by attending approved cultural activities and events between September 2025 and January 2026.
What We Ask From Schools & Colleges
To support the success of the Cultural Passport programme, we kindly ask schools and colleges to assist in the following ways:
1. Share the Promotional Video
In September 2025, a short promotional video will be distributed to all participating schools.
We recommend showing this during tutor time or another appropriate time within the school day.
The video introduces the Cultural Passport and how it works
It can be shown independently by schools, or we are happy to present it where possible
If your school would like an assembly visit, please get in touch – we’ll attend where capacity allows
2. Distribute Passports
Each participating student will receive a printed passport through school.
Schools will act as the primary point of distribution.
3. Promote Ongoing Participation
Please encourage students to take part throughout the term. Activities are:
Free or low-cost
Local and transport-accessible
Designed to be inclusive and youth-friendly
A full, up-to-date list of approved events is available on the Cultural Passport website.
4. Collect Completed Passports
At the end of the programme (January 2026), we ask schools to collect completed passports.
Passports must contain 8 stamps to qualify for the final reward
Schools will be responsible for exchanging completed passports for proof of completion
Rewards will be distributed once confirmed (details to follow)
Thank you for supporting the Cultural Passport and helping young people explore, create and celebrate their local culture.
