Weymouth and Portland Cultural Passport
ABOUT
ABOUT
The Cultural Passport is a printed booklet designed to encourage 12–15 year olds in Weymouth and Portland to explore local culture through hands-on experiences. Developed through Portland and Weymouth Towns of Culture 2025, the initiative connects young people with a wide range of free or low-cost cultural activities taking place across the community.
Participants collect stamps in their passport by attending approved events and completing activities at venues across Weymouth and Portland. Once eight activities are completed between September 2025 and January 2026, they become eligible for the final reward. All experiences are designed to be inclusive, accessible and youth-friendly, with the programme shaped in part by the young people taking part.
This initiative aims to empower young people to build confidence, try new things and celebrate the unique culture of their towns.
Why Take Part?
The Cultural Passport offers young people a chance to:
Discover new skills and talents through creative workshops and activities
Meet new friends and connect with others who share your interests
Explore local culture and hidden gems across Weymouth and Portland
Build confidence by trying new experiences in a supportive environment
Earn rewards for getting involved and completing activities
Have fun while celebrating your community’s creativity and spirit
Once you've collected all eight stamps, there's one last creative challenge! Use the back page of your Cultural Passport to draw something that represents what you've seen or experienced along the way. The most decorative and imaginative entry will win a grand prize.
When your passport is complete, hand it in to your school or to either Weymouth or Portland Library. You will receive proof of completion and gain your final reward!
