What is the Cultural Passport?
The Cultural Passport is a printed booklet for young people aged 12–15, designed to help them explore culture, creativity and community across Weymouth and Portland. The initiative runs from September 2025 to January 2026 and is part of the Portland & Weymouth Towns of Culture 2025.
What kind of activities are included?
Activities are designed to be:
Free or low-cost
Accessible by public transport
Inclusive and neurodiversity-friendly
Creative, engaging and local
Events include visual arts, performance, music-making, community workshops and more. A full list of up-to-date activities can be found on the Cultural Passport website.
How can parents and carers support?
Encourage participation by discussing cultural interests with your child.
Check event listings together before attending (available online).
Support attendance by accompanying them or helping with travel where appropriate.
Celebrate progress by reviewing their passport stamps and creative reflections.
What happens when the passport is completed?
Once the passport has eight stamps and the back page drawing is completed, students should return it to their school. Schools will then issue proof of completion and the participant will be eligible to receive their reward.
